Puribar is a pocket-sized purification device for sanitisation and getting rid of smells
I like things clean and as you can see by some of my cleaning-related posts, it’s an ongoing endeavour.
Because of the pandemic, I started thinking about the hidden nasties in the air, and decided to do some digging to understand what can be used to clear air. I had some John Lewis vouchers for Christmas, and waited for a deal to come through and bagged myself a Dyson Cool Auto React Purifying Fan. This was crazily decadent but hayfever is something I really suffer from, and we keep our windows and doors open, so I noticed that my symptoms really improved through use of this fan.
As I can’t carry a fan around with me all the time, I was looking for something smaller so came across the Puribar. It’s a pocket-sized sanitation device …

How did the Dyson V11 perform vs the Gtech AirRam?
They’re both among the best cordless vacuum cleaners you can buy, but they take very different approaches to the business of cleaning. I have used both, one at my own home and one at my mum’s.
So, how are they different? Let’s start with our Dyson V11:
Recent Dyson vacs have all sported excellent bin emptying mechanisms and this one’s no exception. The bin itself holds 0.76 litres of dust and debris which may seem small but it’s enough for dusty stair carpet and another big room’s carpet in my house.
It comes with lots of handy attachments for the stairs and webs and skirting boards. It also switches from carpet to hard floor seamlessly. To empty its contents, you simply push down a latch and the outer transparent sleeve jolts down, ejecting everything …

Three cool windows and outdoor cleaning products
I have decided to do my own cleaning and that will save me a massive £2k per year! Here are three of my favourite items at the moment.
Window cleaning
I love the Minky glass and window cleaning cloth. For £2.99 in store or £3 online from Morrisons or other supermarkets, it is amazing. It has loads of extra microfibres so you don’t need chemicals. If you can’t get hold of it, for a sustainable window cleaner guaranteed to leave your windows sparkling, add 120ml of rubbing alcohol (70% concentration), 240ml of water, 120ml of white or cider vinegar and 1-2 drops of orange essential oil to a spray bottle. As well as being friendly to your home and the environment, the cleaner can be made in bulk, making it easier and quicker to get …

Value cleaning products
I HATE cleaning but must admit that my house isn’t dirty. The luxury of a lady who does for me two hours a week is a major factor in this.
She really is a luxury for me, but I figure that she’s equivalent to the price of five fancy coffees a week. As I don’t drink coffee or buy my lunch at sandwich shops or coffee shops, she is my treat and IMHO a bargain for me.
Unfortunately, two hours a week isn’t enough to keep my abode spic and span, so I am always looking for good value cleaning products. I tried HOME2HOME and have still not finished the hand wash or cleaner that I bought in 5 litre bottles a year back, so the price was definitely right. They don’t sell everything I …
