No more food waste with Too Good To Go app
Every year, food goes to waste and that’s one-third of all food produced in the world. The global spending to make worldwide access to food possible reaches billions. By looking at this problem, you could easily assume that there’s a shortage of food. But that’s not the case. The problem is food waste.
Too Good To Go started in Denmark in 2016.
The people behind this app share a strong belief that wasting food is unacceptable and that food is simply too good to go to waste. With this movement, they aim to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste. This app connects consumers with bakeries, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and other businesses so that their surplus food can be consumed instead of wasted.
They are now present in 17 countries, including Switzerland, and the …

How BookMyGarage saved me over £150 on my car’s service and MOT
I went for an interim service and MOT last week and ended up saving over £150 by using BookMyGarage. Normally I use my car’s official dealership for work, so that I have all the lovely paperwork and also the software updates I need. The time came to book it in and I didn’t have the phone number so looked online and BookMyGarage appeared.
I clicked through as it offered to compare prices, so I thought let’s do it. I put in that I wanted an MOT and interim service and I couldn’t believe it. I was quoted £98.48 for my service and £39.00 for my MOT. I know that I can get an MOT for £28 by shopping around, but my dealership charges over £50 normally. I was a bit suspicious, so I called my …

Aldi prices matched at Tesco – try this hack
Have you heard about Tesco’s Aldi Price Match? It means that Tesco has matched the prices on hundreds of Tesco and branded products against prices in Aldi. Look out for the ‘Aldi Price Match’ bubble in-store or fill your basket online.
Tesco initially committed to price match Aldi on hundreds of items back in March at the start of lockdown, but many shoppers are still unaware of the scheme.
It’s not just available online either, as shoppers can spot price-matched labels in store, according to the Tesco website.
What products does Tesco match?
They match against comparable products at Aldi or we match identical branded products at Aldi
What prices do they check?
Tesco checks prices in Aldi stores and/or online twice weekly. The stores they check are located in England, Wales and Scotland. Aldi …

New Government scheme lets you save £50 on bike repairs
Cyclists can now get a free £50 voucher to help fix their bikes during lockdown.
The initiative is part of the government’s obesity strategy which was announced on Monday amid growing evidence of a link between obesity and an increased risk from Covid-19.
The vouchers would typically cover the bill for a standard service and the replacement of a basic component such as an inner tube or cable.
Bike owners in England can visit the Energy Saving Trust’s website and register to get a free £50 voucher, the Energy Saving Trust will then email you a code, which you can either show on your phone or print out and give to the retailer. As Number 10 anticipates the scheme will be popular, only 50,000 are being released this evening and the rest will be put …

Free shop at M&S for one shopper per store per week with new Sparks card
Marks & Spencer is relaunching its Sparks loyalty scheme next week, meaning that card holders can continue to donate to charity, while one lucky person per store will get a free shop.
The fabulous grocer (love getting special food from there) will offer instant rewards during shopping, such as bags of Percy Pigs or Apothecary Candles, with at least one customer per store a week gifted a free shop at the checkout.
The Sparks scheme, which was first launched back in 2015, differs to other supermarkets’ loyalty schemes in that shoppers collect points to get advance access to sales and invites to events, rather than vouchers or discounts offered by Tesco’s Clubcard scheme or Sainsbury’s Nectar card.
When the new scheme is launched, customers with existing points will lose their points in exchange for …
