How to score cheap tickets to Warwick Castle – my personal experience

Nestled in the heart of Warwickshire, England, Warwick Castle is a fascinating journey through over a thousand years of history. Whether you’re interested in medieval architecture, historical reenactments, or a nice day out with the family, this iconic castle provides a vibrant and engaging experience…but the tickets can be expensive….so here are some ways to reduce costs.

Buy tickets in advance – Advance ticket purchases not only secure your entry but can also come at a discounted price, ensuring you don’t miss out on your preferred visiting day.

Look for vouchers on eBay – I found Cadbury 2for1 vouchers on eBay that were a steal for entry into Warwick Castle. I managed to get four tickets for just £52, saving significantly off the usual price of £120 for same day tickets. Remember these tips when shopping:

  • Verify with the seller: Always confirm the discount and the validity of the vouchers for your specific visit.
  • Seller availability: Make sure the seller is reachable on the day of your visit in case you run into any issues with the vouchers.

Parking at Warwick Castle – Parking is convenient but comes at an additional cost:

  • Standard parking: £6 per day.
  • Priority parking: Located closer to the entrance for about £10 per day.

Warwick train station isn’t too far away, so a train in is also an option.

Food and dining – While Warwick Castle offers various dining options, the food can be quite pricey. To save even more during your visit, consider packing a picnic. There are plenty of scenic spots throughout the castle grounds where you can enjoy your own food amidst the historic surroundings.

Consider the Merlin Annual Pass – For frequent visitors, the Merlin Annual Pass offers access to Warwick Castle and over 30 other attractions. The Standard Pass is priced at around £89 per person, and the Premium Pass at about £129 per person, each offering benefits like unlimited access and exclusive discounts. It’s a cost-effective option if you plan to visit multiple Merlin attractions throughout the year.

Warwick Castle is easily accessible from most parts of the UK, located just a short drive from Birmingham and less than two hours from London. A visit to Warwick Castle doesn’t just have to be a walk through history; it can also be a budget-friendly adventure with proper planning. From securing discounted tickets on eBay to packing your own picnic instead of dining on-site, every little saving enhances your experience. Ready to explore Warwick Castle? Prepare for a day that’s both educational and economical!
